I would love to introduce you to David – our shining star! David was brought in to West Side Cats? on 11/7/2015 with an injured leg. Thank you to that wonderfully kind person who indeed saved David’s life! David is a handsome Tiger Striped Brown Tabby cat. We immediately sent him to the Vet and David has improved 110%! A thank you goes out to Dr. Allen who helps out West Side Cats – we couldn’t do this without him!! You should see David walking around on 3 legs just like nothing! We are not sure about his age. He seems to get along fine with the other cats. We don’t know how he does with dogs. I think he would be good with children as long as they are good with him. David is considered a Special Needs cat because of his missing leg. He seems to be able to do most everything he needs to! He has adjusted very well considering what he was like when he came in! Please come in Tuesday – Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. and see our wonderful shining star – the star of David!!!!!

This is our big guy Orange at West Side Cats! I know I’ve put him up recently but tonight we thought we would give him a change of scenery and bring him downstairs. Orange loves sinks! He usually sits in the small one upstairs. Well guess what – Orange found the HUGE sink/bathtub downstairs! I was walking by and he proceeded to talk to me telling me he had a new sink to sit in! Then he stood up and really started talking to me! It was so funny I just had to get a photo of him! I must have been in the right place at the right time because Orange stood there proudly showing off his new discovery! He is in Heaven with this BIG sink!!
Orange is a very loving cat! He loves to be petted and will give you head butts! I have heard that a head butt is the sincerest form of flattery a cat can give a person! Not sure how old he is. He is a good size male. Orange is a Special Needs Cat and would make a wonderful Senior Companion just because he takes a little extra care. He seems to love other Cats, People and Dogs. Orange would do well in a quiet home though. Please stop by at West Size Cats and meet Orange (and of course all his friends)! You will wonder how you ever lived without a cat and maybe leave with Orange! We want to find Orange a great home which he so deserves!
Annie is a wonderful female Black and White cat who right now is residing with us until she finds an awesome home! She was born on 1/1/2013. Annie was brought in to West Side Cats? with all her kittens. Now all her kittens have homes! Annie needs a home now! Annie loves to be petted! She is pretty laid back so I can see her loving children. She has no problem with the other cats. We are not sure about dogs? Stop by quickly as any cat as pretty as this could be scooped up and taken to her Furrever home soon!!! Thanks so much for looking! Please come visit soon! We are open from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Whitey went over to PetSmart in Niles and was adopted!!!! Way to go Whitey!!!!!! At West Side Cats we had a new arrival the other day. A wonderful person brought in Whitey who had been living in the woods since spring when her owner moved and left her to fend for herself. Whitey is almost 7 years old and is a Special Needs cat and would make a wonderful Senior Companion! She came into the shelter on 11/5/2015 thankfully so she could be warm and eat and sleep in a safe environment. Whitey loves to sit on your lap and be cuddled and petted. If she trusts you she will purr. We are not sure if she gets along with children or dogs. She seems to just mind her own business around the other cats and doesn’t go out of her way to bother any of them. She is a beautiful white feline! When I took her photos, she came right up to me purring away. I guess I made a new friend! Whitey is available for adoption anytime Tuesday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. We are located at 2217 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown, OH 44509. Or call 330-792-4228 with any questions. Whitey will be your own little sweetheart! She deserves a great new Furrever home!
This is Jayne! She was born on 7/1/2015. Someone found her and brought her in to the shelter. She is just so cute!!! We are not sure if she gets along with children and dogs but she gets along very well with cats! Jayne is like any other kitten – non-stop until they drop! She is a beautiful sleek black kitten who is a bundle of energy! You will absolutely fall in love with her! She was staying with the rest of the crew at West Side Cats? but the other night she saw Yoda and Bobo Feit packing their carriers so she wanted to go along. I helped her pack and away she went to PetSmart in Boardman. If someone hasn’t already snatched her up you can see her there. Jayne would love a family furrever!!!!
At West Side Cats? we take in cats that might not make it otherwise. We certainly try our best. This is Hopps who had to have his right hind leg amputated after a wonderful person brought him in with a broken leg! Thank you!. He is going to be a Special Needs cat now. As you can see, he is on the mend! He lets me pet him and of course I love to bring him his wet food. Hopps came to the Shelter on 11/6/2015. It will be awhile yet for him to be able to be adopted. Unknown if he likes other cats because he has his own room right now and is in his cage. We don’t know how he deals with dogs and children? I will definitely keep you updated with his progress. We are not sure of his age? I just know Hopps will make somebody a very happy cat owner!
Here is Boba Feit the brother of Yoda. He was also born on 8/21/15 and brought in to West Side Cats at 2 days old. After being care for at the shelter and then fostered by one of our wonderful volunteers for awhile, as you can see the two brothers are well on their way! Boba Feit had a large unbilical hernia which was fixed up quite nicely! Boba also runs, jumps and just keeps going! He came to the shelter on 8/23/15 and last night Boba and Yoda both packed their carriers and went on a journey to PetSmart in Niles! If they haven’t already been adopted today, go see them soon! The two little hot cakes will be onto their Furrever home(s) quickly! Safe travels guys!!! Love you!!
What can I say about Yoda? He is so cute! He was brought into West Side Cats? with his litter mates at 2 days old. They were not expected to live with their cords all wrapped around each other. After some loving fostering by one of our awesome volunteers – lo and behold at about 10 weeks old – Little Yoda is being your typical kitten by bouncing off the walls (and everything else)! Yoda was born on 8/21/2015. Yoda was residing at West Side Cats until yesterday when he packed his cat carrier and traveled over to PetSmart in Niles where I know he will quickly find his Furrever home! Yoda is such a love bug! You won’t be able to resist! Also look for his brother Boba Feit over there! You might just want to adopt them together!
This is Faeden when she was at West Side Cats the other day. She can now be visited at PetSmart in Niles. She has an interesting story to tell. Faeden was accidentally dropped by her Momma Cat who was running through a nearby neighborhood. She wandered around for quite awhile begging for food and love! A nice young man found her and brought her to West Side Cats?! Thank you young man!! Now Faeden would love a family of her own! She came into the shelter on 9/19/15. She went over to PetSmart in Niles yesterday – 11/13/15. She seems to get along well with other cats. I think she would love children. We are not sure about dogs? .Faeden was born on 3/29/15. She is just so darn cute and loves to run from one room to the next. She will keep you entertained that is for sure! Please go see Faeden and give her a wonderful home for the Holidays!!!! Thanks!!
Chloe is a really special girl! She turned 10 on 2/1/2005 so she really needs a very quiet home being the only pet. Chloe is so mild mannered and laid back. She doesn’t bother the other cats and kind of does her own thing. She is also very affectionate and loves to be made a fuss over. She came to us when her owner had to go to a nursing home and it broke the owner’s heart to have to give Chloe up! We reassured her that Chloe would be well taken care of and we will try and try to get Chloe another Furrever home that she so deserves. She has made the adjustment very well and I know that she would be able to do it again.
Can you find it in your heart to give Chloe a warm and wonderful home of her own? Chloe can melt your heart with her goodness! Please come visit with Chloe and I just know you will want to take her home with you! West Side Cats is located at 2217 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44509. Or call 330-792-4228. Chloe will be standing by waiting for your arrival! Chloe says Thank You to all of you out there! Let’s give Chloe an awesome Furrever home for the Holidays! I can see her with a Santa hat on next to your Christmas tree!
